Terrell Suggs: We Need To Win Out

Terrell Suggs didn't mince words after Sunday's crushing loss to the Chargers.

The defeat set the Ravens back in their pursuit of a playoff spot, and Suggs stressed that the Ravens can't afford any more losses like that in their final four games.

"We have to win out," Suggs said.

Baltimore is still in position to earn playoff a spot if they finish the season strong. The Ravens close the year with games at Miami (6-5), against Jacksonville (2-10), at Houston (6-6) and against Cleveland (7-5).

They have plenty of time to make a push for a wild-card spot, and they are also still alive in the AFC North race.  The Bengals and Steelers still have to play each other twice, and the Ravens close the season against Cleveland at M&T Bank Stadium.

"If we win them all, we're 11-5," Suggs said. "Usually that's good enough. It all starts with next week. We definitely need to have that game."

The loss to San Diego set the Ravens back in multiple ways. The Chargers are now 8-4 on the year, and they have the head-to-head tiebreaker over the Ravens in the wild-card race. The good news for the Ravens is that the Chargers have a brutal four-game stretch to close the season with games against Denver, New England, San Francisco and Kansas City.

Plenty could happen in the final month of the season, and the AFC race is incredibly close as nine of the 16 teams have better records or are tied with the Ravens.

"Especially with how tough our division is, how tough our conference is, you can't afford to give one up down the stretch," Suggs said. "We really have to play phenomenal this last quarter of the season."
