Suggs, Canty, Jernigan Do Not Practice

The Ravens continue to deal with some injuries on the defensive front.

Outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (thigh) and defensive linemen Timmy Jernigan (knee) and Chris Canty (illness) all sat out Wednesday's practice as the Ravens prepared for the Week 5 matchup with the Indianapolis Colts.

Suggs dealt with the same injury last week, but was able to play against the Panthers and didn't seem too concerned about the problem.

"I'll be alright," he told reporters. "Just some little nicks and bruises, but I'll be alright."

Suggs had one of his best games of the season against the Panthers Sunday after missing practice time during the week. He finished that game with two tackles and a half sack.

Canty also dealt [add] with a knee injury last week, but he missed Wednesday's practice because of an illness. Canty still played Sunday despite missing all three days of practice.

Jernigan has not played or practiced since the Week 2 victory over the Steelers.

The only other players listed on Baltimore's injury report were running back Bernard Pierce (thigh) and cornerback Chykie Brown (neck), who were both full participants.

No Timetable For Monroe's Return

Left tackle Eugene Monroe also sat out Wednesday's practice and is not going to play Sunday. Monroe the Carolina game after undergoing knee surgery last week, and Harbaugh said he will miss "some number of weeks."

The Ravens have not provided an exact timetable for a return, and Monroe didn't give any hints when talking with reporters Wednesday.

"It just depends," Monroe said. "I'm doing everything I can to get back as soon as it's possible. I just come in and work every day to get healthy."

With Monroe out, undrafted rookie James Hurst started in his place and received high marks for his debut.

"I was confident he would do just what he did," Monroe said. "He works his butt off. He has talent. I don't know how he went undrafted."

Jones Sidelined For Colts

The Colts are dealing with a few injury concerns of their own, including to former Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones (ankle) who didn't practice.

Jones didn't play last week and he could be out again Sunday.

"He's getting better every day and trending in the right direction," Colts Head Coach Chuck Pagano said. "Hopefully maybe he makes it back for the game."

Running back Ahmad Bradshaw, linebacker D'Qwell Jackson and wide receiver Reggie Wayne also didn't practice, but those were all non-injury related. Reserve guard Jack Mewhort sat out practice with an ankle injury.
