10/2: Who's Practicing, Who's Not

J. Jones Practices, Brown, Thompson and Stokley Sit

Jacoby Jones returned to the practice field, but several of his fellow wide receivers spent the day on the sidelines.

Jones returned to the practice field for the first time since injuring his knee in the season opener, while the rookie wideout Marlon Brown was forced to sit out because of a hamstring injury he suffered Sunday. Jones was officially a limited participant during practice.

Deonte Thompson (head) was also sidelined and Brandon Stokley (thigh) was limited.

Head Coach John Harbaugh indicated Monday that Jones could potentially return to game action this week depending on how he progresses after a few days of practice. Brown's injury is not considered serious, and his status for Sunday will also be decided based on his progression during the week.

Brown took over a starting role after the injury to Jones, and he leads the team with three touchdown grabs this year. Getting Jones back in the lineup could take away some reps from Brown even if he is healthy enough to play.

"Having more guys available is going to impact everybody's number of snaps, but hopefully we can use all those guys in really positive ways and improve our offense," Harbaugh said.

Thompson suffered a concussion in the fourth quarter of Sunday's game and he still has to be cleared for contact before returning to practice. Stokley missed Sunday's game after injuring his groin leading up to the game.

The only receivers not currently on the injury report are Torrey Smith and Tandon Doss.

Webb Sits Out With Hamstring Injury

A hamstring injury forced top cornerback Lardarius Webb out of Sunday's game, and it also held him out of practice Wednesday.

The injury is not considered a long-term issue, but the Ravens are being cautious with working him back into action. Harbaugh said Monday that the Ravens would monitor Webb during the week of practice to see if they can get him back on the field for Sunday.

"We'll have to carry out through the week and see how they look," Harbaugh said.

In addition to Webb being out, nose tackle Terrence Cody missed another practice because of the knee injury he suffered against the Texans. Harbaugh said when Cody went down with the injury that he could miss a couple games, so his status for Sunday is up in the air.

The other players to miss practice were inside linebacker Albert McClellan (shoulder) and center Ryan Jensen (foot).

A. Brown Returns

Rookie linebacker Arthur Brown (chest) returned to the field after missing the last two weeks with a pectoral injury he suffered in Week 2. Brown was a limited participant Wednesday.

Before getting hurt, Brown was primarily a special teamer and reserve linebacker behind Daryl Smith and Josh Bynes.

In addition to Brown and Jones, the only other limited participant was running back Shaun Draughn, who is dealing with an ankle sprain.
