Former Ravens tight end Maxx Williams announced on Twitter he has signed with the Arizona Cardinals. Williams thanked the Ravens for giving him his NFL start.

John Gambadoro of Arizona Sports 98.7 reported Williams signed a one-year deal, with the amount of the contract undisclosed.

Williams was a Ravens second-round pick in 2015 and spent four seasons with the team. His best pass-catching season came as a rookie, when he had 32 receptions for 268 yards and a touchdown. Used primarily as a run-blocker last season, Williams caught 16 passes for 147 yards.

The Ravens are deep at tight end with Mark Andrews, Hayden Hurst, and Nick Boyle, who was re-signed to a three-year contract in March.

With Arizona, the 25-year-old Williams will be reunited with former Ravens linebacker Terrell Suggs, who signed with the Cardinals during free agency.
