The Caw: Art Jones Named Media Good Guy

I get asked all the time about who the good guys and bad guys are within the Ravens locker room.

Well here's your answer:

Art Jones is officially a good guy.

The third-year defensive end was given the "Media Good Guy" award by Baltimore's reporters Friday. The award is intended for players who are very cooperative, insightful in their interviews and just generally nice to talk to.

Jones of course graciously accepted.

"I appreciate you guys doing a good job, such a great job on showing my brighter side of me off the field and on the field," Jones said. "I just appreciate all that you guys do for us. I know that sometimes guys can give you guys hard times, not do an interview.

"I just see myself as being a reflection of my parents and treat everyone with respect. I appreciate this award from you guys."

Jones has been a lovable character ever since he came to the Ravens. He laughs off jokes from teammates about his hefty frame, he wrestled defensive tackle Kelly Gregg in the locker room in 2010, and he loves talking about mixed martial arts and his brother Jon "Bones" Jones.

Here's another thing that makes you respect Art. He gets asked about his two other successful brothers, Jon 'Bones' Jones and younger brother Chandler, who was a first-round pick by the New England Patriots, all the time.  Art doesn't mind the questions, and he is very proud of their success.

Simply put, he's just a really nice, pleasant guy with a smile almost always on his face. So thanks, Art, for being a good guy.

In other news, running back Ray Rice was named the Media Team MVP for yet another spectacular season. It's the third time he's won it in the last four years. If he weren't the MVP nearly all the time, Rice would also be in the running for Media Good Guy.

"I know your guys' job well, so for you all to vote me MVP, it's a special honor," Rice said.
