After being relatively healthy this season, the Ravens have several key players dealing with injuries ahead of Sunday's game against the Carolina Panthers.

Cornerbacks Marlon Humphrey (thigh), Jimmy Smith (groin) and Brandon Carr (knee) did not practice Wednesday.

Humphrey, who has been the team's most consistent cornerback this season, was out of the lineup Sunday against the New Orleans Saints. Smith played Sunday but had a difficult game, beaten several times by Saints star receiver Michael Thomas. Carr has started 167 consecutive games in his NFL career, even when he has appeared on the injury report earlier in the week.

Right tackle James Hurst (back) did not practice after missing the first game of his career Sunday. Rookie offensive lineman Bradley Bozeman (calf) also missed practice after making his first NFL start at left guard against the Saints. Bozeman twice left Sunday's game with the calf injury, but returned to finish.

Asked about the chances of Hurst, Lewis and Humphrey playing this Sunday, Head Coach John Harbaugh said, "Good chance, I would say. We'll know as they practice, just see how they practice, if they can practice."

Missing practice for non-injury reasons were wide receivers John Brown and Michael Crabtree and safety Eric Weddle.

LG Alex Lewis Returns to Practice (Limited) After Neck Injury

Alex Lewis suffered a scary neck injury in Week 6 against the Tennessee Titans, before being carted off the field and taken to a Nashville-area hospital. He was released a short time later and flew home with the team, but did not practice last week. Others limited in practice Wednesday were cornerback Anthony Averett (hamstring) and linebacker/defensive back Anthony Levine (hamstring).

Lewis was thankful just to be on the football field again after being numb in his entire upper body after the hit.

"Right now, I feel good, but mentally it will be a test to see how well I perform out there at practice," Lewis said.

Former Ravens WR Torrey Smith Misses Wednesday's Practice for Panthers

Wide receiver Torrey Smith (knee), defensive end Mario Addison (back) and linebacker Andre Smith (hamstring) did not practice for the Carolina Panthers on Wednesday.

Defensive end Julius Peppers and safety Mike Adams missed practice for non-injury reasons. Quarterback Cam Newton (right shoulder) and tight end Greg Olsen (foot) practiced on a limited basis. Olsen missed three games with a foot fracture, but has played the past two weeks.
