Baltimore Ravens Host School Transformation & Volunteer Day

The Baltimore Ravens will host an organization-wide volunteer day to renew and transform Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School (220 N. Bentalou St., Baltimore, MD 21223). Fully funded by the Ravens Foundation, Inc., the $175,000 project features a renovation day and ribbon-cutting ceremony on Friday, May 19. (See attached timeline for more details.) The Ravens will also be joined by representatives from The Heart of America Foundation and Baltimore City Public Schools.

Both current and former Ravens players and staff comprise the more than 100 volunteers who will flock together this Friday for the restoration event. The objective is to refurbish the school's cafeteria and gymnasium, paint and refresh hallways and enhance outdoor landscaping to celebrate the students and community surrounding Mary Ann Winterling Elementary School.

Volunteers will also assist with field day activities and distribute backpacks filled with books to the students. Additionally, the Ravens Bookmobile will be on site and accessible throughout the day. The afternoon will conclude with a special ribbon-cutting ceremony and project reveal, featuring representatives from each of the organizations involved and select community leaders.

The restoration project serves to recognize the school's community and show support for its dedicated staff, some of whom have aided their students for more than a decade. These improvements aim to dramatically enhance the school's learning environment, helping engage the students and community in new and exciting ways.

The school transformation continues the Ravens' long-standing commitment to making a difference in the Baltimore community. Some other recent signature projects funded by the Ravens Foundation include:
