Chris Canty Out, Terrell Suggs and Lardarius Webb Active

The Ravens will be short-handed on the defensive line when they take on the Indianapolis Colts at Lucas Oil Stadium.

Veteran defensive end Chris Canty is inactive after missing the entire week of practice because of an illness. With the 10-year veteran sidelined, the Ravens will likely have to do some shuffling up front.

Pernell McPhee could end up playing more defensive end instead of outside linebacker, and DeAngelo Tyson will also have an important role on the line. Recently acquired defensive end Lawrence Guy is also active and he could end up starting for his first game as a Raven.

While Canty is out, the good news for the Ravens is that outside linebacker Terrell Suggs (thigh) and cornerback Lardarius Webb (back) are both active.

Suggs was sidelined during two days of practice this week, and returned to the field as a limited participant Friday. He was officially listed as questionable on the injury report.

Webb wasn't listed on the injury report now that he's fully recovered from a preseason back injury, but the Ravens have eased him along since he went down on the second day of training camp. Webb has been active in just one game this year (Week 3 vs. Cleveland), and he only played four snaps in that contest before getting pulled.

The Ravens have said that Webb is fully recovered now, but that he had to regain his strength and quickness before the Ravens put him back in a game. Having him suited up Sunday is a big addition for the defense as they try to stop the Colts' potent aerial attack led by quarterback Andrew Luck.

The other inactives for the Ravens are wide receiver Michael Campanaro, left tackle Eugene Monroe (knee), linebacker Arthur Brown, defensive lineman Timmy Jernigan (knee), offensive lineman John Urschel and tight end Phillip Supernaw (thigh).

Supernaw is the only other surprising inactive, as he was added to the injury report Friday. With him out, the Ravens now have just two active tight ends in Owen Daniels and Crockett Gillmore.

For the Colts, their biggest loss is that former Ravens defensive lineman Arthur Jones is inactive because of an ankle injury. The other inactives for Indianapolis are cornerback Jalil Brown, linebacker Chris Carter, offensive linemen Khaled Holmes, Jack Mewhort and Jamon Meredith, and defensive tackle Kelcy Quarles.
