Cleveland Browns: Tight End David Njoku Says He Will Move on After Nine Seasons
Veteran tight end David Njoku is looking for a change of scenery.
After nine seasons with the Browns, Njoku announced on Instagram that he'll be testing the free agent market and won't return to Cleveland in 2026.
Njoku left a heartfelt message thanking fans, the organization, and teammates, but said, "The time for me to find a new home has come."
Among tight ends, the 29-year-old Njoku ranks second in Browns history in touchdown catches (34) and receptions (384), trailing only Hall of Famer and Ravens Executive Vice President Ozzie Newsome. Last season, Njoku had 33 catches for 293 yards and was second on the team with four touchdown catches.
Rookie tight end Harold Fannin Jr. took over as Cleveland's No. 1 target last season with a team-high 72 receptions for 731 yards and six touchdowns. New Browns Head Coach Todd Monken heavily featured tight ends during his three seasons as Baltimore's offensive coordinator. The Browns may target a tight end during free agency or the draft to replace Njoku's role in the offense.
Cincinnati Bengals: Joe Flacco Discusses Future and Possible Return to Bengals
Joe Flacco is weighing his options for 2026 after starting the 2025 season with the Browns and finishing with the Bengals.
A pending free agent, Flacco said he may ultimately re-sign with Cincinnati. However, returning to the Bengals would mean a backup role behind franchise quarterback Joe Burrow. A team that gives Flacco a better chance to play may be more enticing.
"At this point, I don't want to just sign up with anybody, I don't want to just play football or be on the sideline for the sake of being out there," Flacco said via Pro Football Talk. "I like the idea of Cincinnati, but, at the same time, you are resigning to something there. There's a world where I could see that happening, but I have to see what's out there."
After spending his first 11 seasons with the Ravens and winning a Super Bowl, Flacco has now played for six other teams, including every team in the AFC North except Pittsburgh.
Pittsburgh Steelers: Aaron Rodgers Decision Reportedly to Come in 'About a Month'
With the 2025 season over, the Steelers are giving 42-year-old quarterback Aaron Rodgers "about a month" to make up his mind, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.
According to Schefter, there is no doubt the Steelers want Rodgers to return.
"When they had the exit meetings with the Pittsburgh Steelers players, almost to a man, they all wanted Aaron Rodgers back… the idea at that point and time was to give him about a month," Schefter said via "The Pat McAfee Show."
"Give him some time to think about things, process things, and in that time, they go and hire Mike McCarthy. Now, they didn't hire Mike McCarthy to bring back Aaron Rodgers, but I don't think that hurts the situation at all. If anything, it helps it. Obviously, Aaron Rodgers has to decide what he wants to do."
At his introductory press conference as head coach, McCarthy also talked about the potential of second-year quarterback Will Howard, who could be Rodgers' successor. However, McCarthy said he's "definitely" hoping Rodgers returns.
