Jeremiyah Love Falls to Ravens in The Athletic's Beat Writer Mock Draft
Most mock drafts have the Ravens taking an offensive lineman, wide receiver, or edge rusher in the first round. And now for something completely different.
In The Athletic’s second beat writer mock draft, Jeff Zrebiec has Baltimore selecting Notre Dame running back Jeremiyah Love.
ESPN's Mel Kiper Jr. and NFL Network's Daniel Jeremiah both have Love going fourth overall to the Tennessee Titans in their latest mock drafts, but Love was still on the board when the Ravens were on the clock at No. 14 in The Athletic's simulation.
"Remember the last time the Ravens were picking at 14 and one of the best players in the draft fell into their laps because of positional value?" Zrebiec wrote. "That was Kyle Hamilton in 2022, and I'd say taking the best player available in that draft worked out pretty well for the Ravens.
"Love, another ex-Notre Dame standout, is too good to resist. Derrick Henry is 32, and the Ravens don't have his successor on the roster. Love is a home run hitter who will bring juice to an offense that will have a new look with Declan Doyle directing the show."
Why Ravens Would Be the Best Fit for Stefon Diggs
The Ravens could be in the market for a veteran wide receiver, and Stefon Diggs is available.
NFL.com’s Nick Shook believes the Ravens are the best fit for the four-time Pro Bowler.
"If he doesn't consider returning to New England, it would make plenty of sense for Diggs to become the latest household name to latch on with Lamar Jackson and Co. in pursuit of a ring," Shook wrote. "He'll bring the fresh experience of reaching the Super Bowl, a roaring competitive fire and the skills – which he proved he still has – to become a dependable target for Jackson in a corps that could use him opposite Zay Flowers and Rashod Bateman.
"Diggs could help Baltimore's younger receiving corps much like he did in New England and make some big plays for Jackson, who should always be supplied with talented pass catchers."
Diggs, 32, was the No. 1 receiver for the AFC champion Patriots this past season, finishing with 85 catches for 1,013 yards and four touchdowns. The Maryland native has posted 1,000+ receiving yards seven times in the past eight seasons (he finished with 496 yards in eight games in an injury-shortened 2024 season).
Offensive Line Coach Dwayne Ledford Works With Vega Ioane at Penn State's Pro Day
Penn State guard Vega Ioane is the prospect most frequently linked to the Ravens in mock drafts, and new Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator Dwayne Ledford got an up-close look at him at the Nittany Lions' pro day on Wednesday.
Baltimore Beatdown was on the scene and reported that Ledford was assisting on individual drills with Ioane and other offensive linemen.
Another Penn State player reportedly on the Ravens' radar is pass rusher Dani Dennis-Sutton, who confirmed that he has a visit scheduled with the team. Dennis-Sutton is a Baltimore native.
Is it 'Scottish Hammer' Time for the Ravens?
The Ravens will be looking for a punter for the first time since drafting Jordan Stout in the fourth round in 2022.
While the Ravens could again turn to the draft to find Stout's replacement, The Baltimore Banner’s Paul Mancano suggested veteran free agent Jamie Gillan as an option.
"Time to bring in the Scottish Hammer," Mancano wrote. "Gillan, a native of Inverness, Scotland, caught on with the Browns in 2019 as an undrafted free agent out of Arkansas-Pine Bluff. His punts aren't quite as long as his flowing locks: Gillan was 32nd in the NFL in yards per punt in 2025. But with seven years of NFL experience, the Hammer could find himself in a training camp battle in Baltimore."
Gillan spent the past four seasons with the New York Giants, who signed Stout to a three-year deal reportedly worth $12.3 million last week to make him the league's highest-paid punter.
