Pittsburgh Steelers: Aaron Rodgers Is Likely Heading Into His Final Season

The 2025 season will likely mark the final one of Aaron Rodgers' career.

The Pittsburgh Steelers quarterback appeared on "The Pat McAfee Show" Tuesday and said he'll probably hang it up after his one-year deal with the Steelers is over.

"I'm pretty sure this is it," Rodgers said. "That's why we just did a one-year deal. The Steelers didn't need to put any extra years on that or anything. This was really about finishing with a lot of love and fun and peace for the career that I've had. I mean, I've played 20 freakin' years. It's been a long run, and I've enjoyed it. What a better place to finish than one of the cornerstone franchises of the NFL."

The 41-year-old Rodgers had flirted with retirement for the last few years during and after his time with the New York Jets. He signed a one-year deal with Pittsburgh earlier this month that can reportedly be worth up to $19.5 million with incentives.

Cleveland Browns: Teammate Predicts Kenny Pickett Will Win Browns' Starting Job

Kenny Pickett has won over at least one player in the Browns' locker room to be the starting quarterback.

Wide receiver Diontae Johnson, who spent two seasons with Pickett in Pittsburgh, recently gave a vote of confidence for Pickett to be the starting signal-caller.

"I'm going to roll with Kenny for right now," Johnson said on “The Comeback”. "I've been seeing Kenny, right now, with the ones — and then Joe [Flacco] will come in. I think they're probably gonna roll with [Pickett], just to see — coming off the season he was with Philly and having a Super Bowl."

Pickett spent last season with the Eagles, backing up Jalen Hurts. He's competing for the starting job in a crowded quarterback room in Cleveland that includes veteran Flacco and rookies Shedeur Sanders and Dillon Gabriel. Deshaun Watson, who is recovering from an Achilles injury, is also on the roster.

"He can spin it," Johnson added of Pickett.

In May, Cleveland.com's Mary Kay Cabot also reported that Pickett is the favorite. The Ravens' home opener is against the Browns in Week 2.

Cincinnati Bengals: Orlando Brown Jr. Gives His Take on the Shemar Stewart and Trey Hendrickson Contract Situations

Offensive tackle Orlando Brown Jr. weighed in last week on the contract situations surrounding teammates Trey Hendrickson and Shemar Stewart.

"We got a very close locker room, first and foremost," Brown said on ESPN's NFL Live. "Guys have talked to Trey [Hendrickson], guys have talked to Shemar [Stewart], even with Ja'Marr [Chase] and Tee [Higgins], when they were going through what they were going through, we spoke to them. I mean, ultimately, it's the NFL. It's a business. It's part of it. These types of things happen. But I would imagine these deals get done hopefully sooner rather than later."

The 30-year-old Hendrickson is looking for an extension with the Bengals after leading the league in sacks last season (17.5). He did not attend mandatory minicamp but resumed contract talks last week with the Bengals, according to ESPN's Jeremy Fowler.

Stewart, on the other hand, has yet to put pen to paper on his rookie contract with the Bengals after the team drafted him with the No. 17 overall pick. According to Tyler Dragon of USA Today, the Bengals are attempting to change the language in the rookie's contract to "allow the team to void future guarantees." Stewart's representation is asking for his contract language to look the same as previous Cincinnati first-round picks.

Stewart didn't mince his words before he left minicamp.

"In my case, I'm 100% right, so it should be a no-brainer," Stewart said. "In Trey's case, I think it should be a no-brainer, too. Seventeen-and-a-half sacks, two years back-to-back?"
