Lamar Jackson is expected to return for the Ravens' Week 8 game against the Chicago Bears, Head Coach John Harbaugh said following Sunday's 17-3 loss to the Rams.
Jackson's return will come at a much-needed time for Baltimore, which enters its bye week with a 1-5 record.
"We're going to have healthy players coming back. Our quarterback's going to be back," Harbaugh said.
Harbaugh was asked if Jackson is "for sure" going to return.
"I mean for sure? I'm saying so, but I don't know," Harbaugh said. "That's how life is sometimes. You can't predict everything. It's still the future, but that's the hope."
Jackson has missed the last two games with a hamstring injury. The Ravens went 0-2 without him, scoring 13 combined points over the two-week stretch.
"Lamar is a generational player. You can't replace him with anybody," running back Justice Hill said. "Obviously, getting him back will be a huge leap for our offense."
Cooper Rush started the last two games but was replaced by Tyler Huntley in the fourth quarter of Sunday's loss to Los Angeles. Rush finished the day 11-of-19 passing for 72 yards and an interception. Huntley completed 10 of 15 passes for 68 yards and gained 39 yards on the ground but was unable to ignite a fourth-quarter comeback.
Harbaugh said the plan going into the game was to use both quarterbacks, and he was asked why he didn't go to Huntley sooner.
"[With] the way the first half went, it didn't seem to be a moment to bring him out," Harbaugh said. "[During the] second half, we had a drive going and then we turned it over. So, I think you could say that, maybe, but I don't necessarily think there was an obvious moment to do that. But the plan all along was to play both quarterbacks."
