Ravens Celebrate Kickoff to NFL Season
To celebrate the start of the 2014 NFL regular season, the Baltimore Ravens and Miller Lite will host Countdown to Kickoff, featuring festivities that are free and open to the public prior to the team's opener against the Cincinnati Bengals on Sunday, Sept. 7 at M&T Bank Stadium (1 p.m. on CBS).
Activities begin on Thursday, Sept. 4 at 6 p.m. when the Ravens, Miller Lite and 98Rock present the 2014 Kickoff Party at Power Plant Live!. The celebration will include a live TV broadcast of the NFL season opener (Packers vs. Seahawks), Ravens Cheerleaders, Playmakers, Pep Band, mascots, talent from 98Rock and a concert featuring Fitz and The Tantrums. Entrance to the concert is free, but space is limited (fans must be 21 years or older to attend). In addition to the concert, there will be free giveaways and prizes.
Heading into the season's first official Purple Friday on Sept. 5, the Ravens will take to the streets to spread kickoff spirit with a caravan that travels around Baltimore. The team invites fans to get decked-out in Ravens gear and join the caravan as a traveling group of cheerleaders, team mascot and staff creates a celebration that lasts into the night. Stops will feature Miller Lite specials and giveaways, as well as custom Ravens shirts, posters and autographed prizes. (The full schedule is detailed below.)
Ravens Fans who cannot make it to this week's events are encouraged to send the Ravens their Tweets, Facebook posts and Instagram photos using #PlayLikeARaven. Those messages could be displayed at the Under Armour Performance Center for players, coaches and staff to see as they prepare to face the Bengals. Plus, many photos will be featured on the RavensVision boards at M&T Bank Stadium for all fans to see during the Cincinnati game.
