RAVENS PROVIDE YOUTH FOOTBALL GRANTS TO 18 LOCAL PROGRAMS
The Ravens All Community Team Foundation (RACTF) has awarded youth football grants to 18 nonprofit programs in the state of Maryland. In their commitment to enhance the quality of youth football, the Baltimore Ravens will provide grants for new football equipment and apparel to teams that demonstrate outstanding programs and have a positive impact on their respective communities.
For the second-consecutive year, the grant will serve as a pipeline between the Ravens and youth football teams to promote, improve and facilitate the healthy development of children in the community. Each recipient will continue utilizing its grant to purchase equipment and apparel that may include shoulder pads, helmets and blocking shields. With the support of Under Armour in 2012, the Ravens have also added grant packages that include cleats, footballs, shirts, gloves and visors.
On an annual basis, the Ravens contribute more than 800 cleats to area football programs, donate weight-training equipment, host clinics for youth football coaches and recognize area high school coaches through the Ravens Coach of the Week program. The team also hosts various youth football tournaments and clinics, presented by Under Armour. Most recently, these have included the Ravens 7-on-7 High School Football Tournament and the Ravens Football Clinic for area youth and high school student-athletes.
At home games, the Ravens also showcase high school quarterbacks in the QB Challenge competition during halftime, and they recognize one male and one female student-athlete as Ravens Champion Athletes of the Week for excellence on the field, in the classroom and in the community.
