The Baltimore Ravens will host "Family Night," presented by Southwest Airlines, at M&T Bank Stadium on Thursday (Aug. 7) in the preseason opener vs. the Indianapolis Colts. An evening featuring fun-filled themes for families, kickoff is set for 7 p.m.
Gate Giveaway
The first 15,000 children ages 16 and under will receive a specially-designed Ravens Poe hat.
Player Introductions
Youth flag and tackle football players will be introduced alongside members of the Ravens' starting offense.
National Anthem & Color Guard
The Maryland State Boychoir will perform the national anthem. The United States Army Old Guard, as well as the Baltimore Polytechnic Institute Junior ROTC Color Guard, will present the colors.
Legend of the Game: Adam Jones
Thursday night's Legend of the Game is Adam Jones – a four-time Gold Glove winner who ranks among the Baltimore Orioles' all-time leaders in hits, home runs, RBI and runs scored. Jones is one of only six Orioles ever to earn at least five All-Star selections, and he will be inducted into the Orioles Hall of Fame on Saturday night prior to the Orioles-Athletics game.
Girls Flag at the Half
In honor of the NFL's Play Football Month and to further the Ravens' commitment to the growth of girls high school flag football across Maryland, the following teams will compete during halftime: St. Charles High School, Henry E. Lackey High School, North Point High School (all Charles County) and Patuxent High School (Calvert County).
In-Game Reporting
Throughout the game, Annapolis native Young Dylan – the star of Tyler Perry's "Young Dylan" and the co-host of NFL Slimetime – will serve as a junior sideline reporter.
Mascot Birthday Celebration
The Ravens will celebrate the birthday of mascots Edgar, Allan and Poe. Many of their mascot friends have been invited to partake in the celebration during a first-quarter break.
RAVENS SCHOLARS ACKNOWLEDGEMENTS
The 16th class of Ravens Scholars will be honored on-field during a quarter break. Cashmere Greer (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute), Jaron Harris (Dunbar), Marvelous Kalejaiye (Baltimore Polytechnic Institute), Darius Kogah (Academy for College & Career Exploration) and Travis Pennington (Baltimore City College) recently graduated from high school and were awarded $5 thousand renewable scholarships (up to $20 thousand dollars over four years) to support their respective college educations, courtesy the Ravens Foundation, Inc.
