Pittsburgh Steelers: Anthony Weaver, Brian Flores Reportedly Land Second Interviews

The Pittsburgh Steelers are well into the process find a replacement for long-time head coach Mike Tomlin, who stepped aside last week.

Anthony Weaver and Brian Flores will reportedly have second in-person interviews with the Steelers this week, according to Mike DeFabo and Dianna Russini of The Athletic.

Weaver will reportedly also have a second interview with the Ravens, according to Tom Pelissero of NFL Network.

The 45-year-old Weaver has been the Miami Dolphins' defensive coordinator for the past two seasons and has extensive NFL experience. He spent three seasons (2021-23) on the Ravens' staff as defensive line coach/run game coordinator for one season before being elevated to assistant head coach/defensive line. Weaver has been coaching in the NFL since 2012 and has been drawing head coaching interest for several years.

The Steelers are very familiar with Flores, who was a senior defensive assistant and linebackers coach with Pittsburgh in 2022. He's looking for a second chance as an NFL head coach, after a three-year run as the Dolphins' head coach (2019-21), where he compiled a 24-25 record.

Pittsburgh has also reportedly met with Rams Defensive Coordinator Chris Shula, Rams Pass Game Coordinator Nate Scheelhaase, Chargers Defensive Coordinator Jesse Minter, and Seahawks Offensive Coordinator Klint Kubiak, among others.

The Steelers are expected to meet this week with former Dallas Cowboys and Green Bay Packers head coach Mike McCarthy, according to ESPN's Adam Schefter.

Cleveland Browns: Nate Scheelhaase Expected to Have Second Interview Next Week

The Browns are expected to wait at least another week to name their next head coach.

Scheelhaase will get a second in-person interview with Cleveland, according to Schefter, but it will have to wait. Coaches for the Rams and Seahawks are not permitted to interview in-person until after Sunday's NFC Championship game.

Meanwhile, the Browns will reportedly dive deep into their second phase of interviews this week. Cleveland Defensive Coordinator Jim Schwartz, Jacksonville Jaguars Offensive Coordinator Grant Udinski, Minter, Ravens Offensive Coordinator Todd Monken, and former Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel have or will have second interviews, according to Mary Kay Cabot of Cleveland.com.

Longtime Browns reporter Tony Grossi expects Cleveland to hire a young offensive head coach.

Cincinnati Bengals: Offensive Coordinator Dan Pitcher to Speak with Tampa Bay

Bengals Offensive Coordinator Dan Pitcher may reportedly leave the Bengals for an opportunity to call plays.

The Tampa Bay Buccaneers will interview Pitcher for their vacant offensive coordinator job, according to Ian Rapoport of NFL Network.

Head Coach Zac Taylor calls the offensive plays for the Bengals. However, Pitcher was named offensive coordinator the past two seasons and has been on the Bengals' staff since 2016.

Pitcher was also in the Browns' first round of interviews for their head coach position.
