When the Ravens signed experienced veterans John Jenkins and Joseph Noteboom during the offseason, it was for situations like Sunday's game against the Kansas City Chiefs.

Jenkins will play a major role in the defensive line rotation with Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) and Broderick Washington Jr (ankle) out. Noteboom is expected to make his first start for the Ravens at left tackle if Ronnie Stanley (ankle) doesn't play.

Jenkins' role increased in Week 3 when he played nearly half of the defensive snaps, and he could play even more against Kansas City. While the Ravens' run defense struggled against the Detroit Lions, Head Coach John Harbaugh was encouraged by what he saw from Jenkins.

"He played really well," Harbaugh said. "His reps will go up, for sure, and he's ready. He's practiced really well, and he's a decorated vet and a really good player. He's done a great job, so we're expecting a really good game from him."

The opportunity won't overwhelm the 36-year-old Jenkins, a 13-year vet who has played in 153 games with 64 career starts. He started every game for the Las Vegas Raiders the past two seasons, and he has already put last week's performance behind him.

"That was last week," Jenkins said. "I know why I signed and what I came here to do. I'm just trying to do my part. I'm just trying to get better and better. That's my focus."

The 30-year-old Noteboom made four starts for the Los Angeles Rams last season and has started 35 of 74 career games. He's had plenty of time during OTAs and training camp to feel comfortable with the Ravens' blocking schemes, and he has enjoyed working with Offensive Line Coach George Warhop. If Stanley can't go, Noteboom will be ready.

"I have enough starting experience where it's nothing new for me," Noteboom said. "With all the coaching and all the guys, I feel really good about having to go in there. Coach Warhop is a great coach, so the transition with learning everything and the technique has been really seamless."

Ravens Still Deciding on If Isaiah Likely Will Play vs. Chiefs

Isaiah Likely (foot) practiced this week and is eager to make his 2025 debut after missing three games. However, Harbaugh said Friday that several factors would determine if Likely returns to action against the Chiefs.

"We'll watch the tape and see how [the practice data] numbers look," Harbaugh said. "It's going to be a tough environment. He's practiced one week, but he looked really good, so is he ready to go in there, in this game, against those guys and play at the top level and help us win the game, or is somebody else more suited?

"He could do it. He looks good to me. We'll just have to see if it's the best thing for us on Sunday, and we haven't really decided that yet."

Harbaugh Gives Updates on Patrick Ricard and Madubuike

Harbaugh gave a brief update on Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard (calf), who hasn't played this season and hasn't practiced since Aug. 18.

"I think (Ricard] is still in rehab mode right now," Harbaugh said.

Asked if Ricard's status was still week-to-week, Harbaugh said, "I don't know."

Harbaugh didn't provide an update on Madubuike's longer-term status.

"[Madubuike is] out for this game," Harbaugh said. "That's as far as I can state with certainty at this point."

Rookie Offensive Lineman Emery Jones Jr. Could Practice Next Week

Third-round offensive lineman Emery Jones Jr., who has been on the reserve/non-football injury list since the start of the season, could return to practice next week.

"We have talked about that possibility," Harbaugh said. "We'll see. [He's] in that range, for sure."

Jones has been dealing with a shoulder injury that required surgery earlier this year. He was a full-time starter at right tackle since the third game of his freshman season at LSU, but he can also play guard, which might be his strongest position in the NFL.
