Lamar Jackson, Mark Andrews Will Play vs. Jets, But Ronnie Stanley Won't

For the second time in three weeks, the Ravens will have a new starter on their offensive line.

Starting left tackle Ronnie Stanley (concussion) is inactive and will miss his first game of the season Thursday night against the New York Jets. James Hurst is expected to start at in Stanley's place, becoming the latest offensive lineman to assume a starting role.

Patrick Mekari will be starting his third game at center after replacing Matt Skura, who suffered a season-ending knee injury Nov. 25 against the Los Angeles Rams.

Stanley is having his best season playing at a Pro Bowl level protecting Lamar Jackson's blindside. However, Jackson and other teammates expressed confidence in Hurst during the week, anticipating that he would start with Stanley unable to practice this week.

"James is a seasoned veteran. He knows how to play," right tackle Orlando Brown Jr. said. "I'm sure he'll go out there and play one of the best games of his career."

Tight end Mark Andrews is active after testing his knee during pregame warmups. Andrews was on the field early with fellow tight ends Nick Boyle and Hayden Hurst, stretching and running routes.

Andrews appeared to be moving well and was given the green light to play, despite being limited in practice this week. Andrews is a key piece of the offense, leading the team in catches (54), receiving yards (707) and touchdown receptions (seven). He missed much of last week's game in Buffalo.

As expected, quarterback Lamar Jackson (quad) is active despite being listed as questionable. Jackson was a full participant in Wednesday's practice and said during the week that he would play.

Safety and special teams standout Anthony Levine Sr. (ankle) is active after being listed as questionable, as is defensive lineman Jihad Ward (elbow). Inside linebacker Chris Board (concussion) was ruled out on Wednesday. Joining Stanley and Board as inactives are quarterback Trace McSorley, wide receiver Jaleel Scott, cornerback Anthony Averett, defensive tackle Justin Ellis and guard Ben Powers.

Jamal Adams, Quinnen Williams Inactive for Jets

The Jets will be without two key defensive starters – safety Jamal Adams (ankle) and tackle Quinnen Williams (neck). Adams' absence is a serious blow to the defense. The sixth-overall pick in 2017, Adams is one of the NFL's best players at his position and made the Pro Bowl in 2018.

Williams, the third-overall pick in this year's draft, is having a solid rookie campaign with 24 tackles, anchoring a defense that has been strong against the run.

The Jets will also be without veteran wide receiver Demaryius Thomas (hamstring/knee), who has 36 catches for 433 yards and a touchdown this season. Also inactive for the Jets are cornerback Arthur Maulet, running back Bilal Powell, cornerback Brian Poole, and starting right tackle Chuma Edoga (knee).
