New Ravens Head Coach Jesse Minter's staff is beginning to take shape, as he announced the hiring of four assistant coaches Monday.
Baltimore has officially hired Declan Doyle as offensive coordinator, and Anthony Weaver reportedly has agreed to be the defensive coordinator.
Four assistant coaches on Minter's staff will be:
- Dwayne Ledford – Offensive Line Coach/Run Game Coordinator
- Mike Mickens – Pass Game Coordinator/Secondary
- Tyler Santucci – Inside Linebackers Coach
- Charlie Gelman – Game Management Coordinator/Defensive Assistant
Ledford, 49, had been with the Falcons since 2021, serving as Atlanta's offensive line coach for all five seasons and earning the run game coordinator position for the last two. With a strong blocking unit and star running back Bijan Robinson, the Falcons have had a top-10 rushing offense in each of the past three seasons.
"We are excited to welcome Dwayne, who is regarded by many as the league's top offensive line coach," Minter stated. "He will be a difference-maker for our offense, and I look forward to seeing the impact he'll have in both the running and passing games."
Mickens, 38, spent the past six seasons with Notre Dame, helping to build one of the nation's best secondaries. The Fighting Irish ranked third in the nation in pass defense in 2023 and fourth in 2024.
Mickens overlapped with Minter twice previously, including once as a player at Cincinnati and then as a coach at Indiana State in 2012, when Minter was the defensive coordinator.
"Even as a relatively young coach, Mike is one of the best coaches I have been around," Minter stated. "He is an elite communicator whose competitive spirit and relationship building will push our secondary to outstanding levels."
Santucci joined the Ravens last season as their inside linebackers coach. He helped Roquan Smith earn a third straight first-team All-Pro honor and oversaw the impressive development of Trenton Simpson, rookies Teddye Buchanan and Jay Higgins IV, and others. Buchanan was named to the All-Rookie team despite a late-season knee injury.
"I am thrilled to retain Tyler on our defensive staff," Minter stated. "He did a great job with our linebackers last year and is a rising star in this profession. His familiarity with our players and the fire he brings to the group are tremendous assets for our defense."
Gelman spent the past three seasons as the Indianapolis Colts' football analyst/game management, but he got his start in Baltimore, where he first crossed paths with Minter. Gelman worked his way up from a scouting analytics intern in 2019 to a football analyst in 2022.
"It is great to bring Charlie back to Baltimore, which is where he and I first met and gained experience as young NFL coaches," Minter stated. "He is very smart and collaborative – always taking a forward-thinking approach. I can't wait to work with him again and see the wide-ranging influence he'll have on our team."
