Ravens Call Up Defensive Lineman From Practice Squad

DL Brent Urban
DL Brent Urban

The Ravens have elevated veteran defensive lineman Brent Urban and tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden for "Monday Night Football" against the Detroit Lions.

Urban played in 13 games for the Ravens last season and made 20 tackles. He'll provide more depth and experience on the defensive line with Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) sidelined.

Rookie defensive tackle Aeneas Peebles will play a larger role with Madubuike out as well. The Lions have one of the most talented backfields in the league with Jahmyr Gibbs and David Montgomery, and the Ravens need to get pressure on quarterback Jared Goff.

"I know he's going to play hard and he's going to get after it," Head Coach John Harbaugh said of Peebles. "I have a feeling he'll make a few plays."

It's Mitchell-Paden's third time being elevated from the practice squad with tight end Isaiah Likely (foot) and fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) still out. Mitchell-Paden has played well blocking in a hybrid role and had a chance at a touchdown last week against the Cleveland Browns.
