The Ravens signed veteran cornerback Amani Oruwariye to their practice squad Wednesday with Marlon Humphrey (calf) and Nate Wiggins (elbow) dealing with injuries.
The Ravens are short-handed across their defense for Sunday's upcoming game against the Houston Texans, meaning newcomers could see immediate action.
Oruwariye, 29, is in his seventh NFL season and has played in 61 games with 40 starts.
A fifth-round pick out of Penn State in 2019, he spent his first four seasons with the Detroit Lions. His finest season was in 2021 when he made six interceptions, 11 passes defensed, and 57 tackles in 14 starts.
He has bounced around since his rookie contract expired with the Lions. He first signed with the New York Giants in 2023, then went to the Jacksonville Jaguars that same season.
He spent last season with the Dallas Cowboys, playing in seven games with four starts. He made one interception, broke up three passes, and had 29 tackles.
