Ravens Sign Wide Receiver to Practice Squad

The Ravens signed wide receiver Cornelius Johnson to their practice squad Tuesday.

A seventh-round pick of the Los Angeles Chargers last season, Johnson spent most of his rookie year on the Green Bay Packers practice squad but didn't make the team out of training camp this year. He had six catches for 50 yards in the preseason.

The 6-foot-2 wideout spent his five college seasons at Michigan, where he won a national championship and played for the head coach who had a say in drafting him, Jim Harbaugh. Johnson posted 138 receptions for 2,038 yards and 14 touchdowns over his college career.

Outside linebacker and Baltimore native Malik Hamm was released to make room for Johnson on the roster.

Hamm made the Ravens' 53-man roster as an undrafted rookie in 2023, but his first two seasons were lost to knee injuries. He returned this summer and shined in the preseason, carving out a spot on the team's initial practice squad.
