Sure, Dennis Pitta's new contract was a big deal.
But did anyone else notice the flashy purple pants he wore to his press conference?* *
Wide receiver Torrey Smith did. Smith was seated in the back of the press conference and was given the honor of asking the final question.
Torrey: "Since you got your new contract, are you going to dress like this all the time?"
Pitta: "I might."
Pitta: "I look good, so …"
That was, without a doubt, my favorite part of the press conference.
I must say, I have to agree with Pitta. The pants, which a female friend at the office told me were closer to periwinkle than purple or lavender (sorry Lavender Ladies), were quite stylish. Not sure where he got them, but I may have to look into that.
The money isn't what changed Pitta though. I remember doing a Q&A with Ravens players and several identified Pitta as the Raven most concerned with his appearance – especially his hair.
So, yes, we can probably expect Pitta to be dressed like that for years to come.
