TE MARK ANDREWS
On the atmosphere around the building with the start of training camp: "Just all of us getting together here today and just focusing on each and every day, trying to get better and taking it one day at a time, one practice at a time, one walk-through at a time and focusing on ourselves. We have a great team and a lot of great players, a lot of great young guys and coaches, and this organization is the best ever. So, just focusing on ourselves, getting better and working towards that end goal."
On the difference in the mentality of the team going into this year: "I think there's a lot of maturity within this group, and I think it's a good balance of having a lot of young guys, but [also] a lot of guys that have been there before. And so, I think just having that, [we're] going to build off each other, and I think it'll end well."
On his experience this offseason after a difficult end to the 2024 season and trade rumors throughout the offseason: "For me, I try not to look outside of the box too often and focus on the main things, and that's what I've been doing. And at the end of the day, I put my trust in God, first and foremost. I know that he's gotten me this far. I know the type of player I am, the type of man I am. And all those things, looking forward, I know they're going to help me grow, get better, be the player that I'm meant to be and get to that end goal, which I'm incredibly focused on."
On if he is looking forward to playing against the Buffalo Bills in Week One: "It's going to be a great story. I'm excited about that game."
On if he agrees with media outlets saying the Ravens currently have the best roster in the NFL: "Very talented, but there are so many different things that come into play when you're playing football at this time of year. So, for us, it's – again, I talked about this a little bit earlier – it's about getting better every day, not being complacent with what you are, or who you think you are. We can't be complacent in that area and continue to grow as a team, stay together and just work on getting better. But like you said, we have a very talented team, so it's about growing off of that."
On if he feels like there are different expectations placed upon the team going into this season: "I don't know about different, I think there is always the goal of reaching it to the end, and we've been so close [but] haven't gotten there. I talked about this – again, a little earlier – we have a great mix of guys that have been there before, mature guys, guys that are incredible players and a lot of young guys that are going to step up and make big-time plays. So, I just think, again, it's us staying composed [and] focused on the growth of this team this time of year and getting to where we want to be Week One."
On the most important thing he's learned during his eight-year career: "You [have] to be able to push yourself. This is time to kind of push your limits and find out who you are, set yourself up for a great season. And there are a lot of things that go into that, but it's taking care of your body, hydrating and doing all the different things that – little things can separate you. But having a mindset of doing the right things, being a pro, maybe going to bed early so you wake up the next day, and you're ready to attack that day."
On the depth of the receiving corps and the mentality they need to have when sharing targets: "I think at the end of the day, it has to be an unselfish group. [Those are] the type of guys they bring in here, it's an unselfish group. And that's not to say that guys aren't going to want the rock and to have their yards, have their carries or have their catches, and I think that's a great thing. I think Coach [Todd] 'Monk' [Monken] talks about that a lot. And for us, it's being unselfish, trusting the process and trusting No. 8 [Lamar Jackson]. He makes incredible reads, incredible decisions, and it leads us to victories. And when we do that, good things will happen. It's about being there for him."
On if he allows himself to think about his impending contract extension: "I talked to you about God, and you have to trust God. And for me, it's not looking too far ahead, it's living in the moment [and] being present. I'm thankful to be here this year, to be able to compete for this organization, compete for this city – it means so much to me. I just want people to know that. It really means everything to me, so I'm excited about it."
On if he hopes to retire as a Raven: "Again, you never know what is going to happen. You said it earlier – there are a lot of mouths to feed, but I'm incredibly excited for this year, to be able to play here."
On the new grading system implemented by the coaches and if it creates added pressure for the team: "Yes, it's the details that matter, it's the details that win games. And so, for us, this is the start of training camp, so we have to be diligent about doing the little things right and carrying those over to make them second nature. So, I think to the point of having those grading scales of the different things that the coaches are doing, [it] just puts an emphasis on – throughout practice or games, to make it habit, and that's an awesome thing."
On QB Lamar Jackson's ability to improve every season and if we'll ever be close to seeing peak Lamar: "Maybe like 10 years from now." (laughter) "I don't know. No. Like you said, he really does find ... Every year he finds a new way to get better and better. It's almost like the game has just continually slowed down for him. And he's already such a fast, dynamic player and his playmaking, the way he reads the game, he's just getting more and more comfortable. I love the way that he's just going about his business and continues to move that bar higher and higher, which is already incredible."
On Lamar Jackson's comments and his defense of Andrews when speaking to the media during mandatory minicamp: "I know that Lamar has my back, and he knows I'm there for him. It's a special connection, and it definitely means a lot [to me] for him to come out and say those things. I trust in him wholeheartedly; that's my guy forever."
On the adjustments he's had to make over the years as more offensive weapons have joined the team: "That's the beauty of it. And I talked about this earlier, but [offensive coordinator Todd] 'Monk' [Monken] talks about just being able to be dynamic, be diverse and switch it up. You don't ever want to have to rely on one person. And so, we have so many different guys that are so good at what they do. It's really a beautiful thing. So, if we can take this time to get better, grow, be unselfish, and as an offense, just keep on pushing forward ... I think that's a good thing."
DT NNAMDI MADUBUIKE
On if the team talks about expectations that surround the Ravens heading into Training Camp: "Yes, we do. Overall, we're just happy to see everybody's faces, just be here, see everybody healthy and ready to go. Everybody's just excited to see each other and just get ready for a training camp. That's all we're just focused on, just having a great camp."
On how being one of the most double-teamed interior defensive linemen challenged him: "Yes, [I] definitely had a lot of [double teams] last year. It freed up a bunch of guys, and it was frustrating at times, but I made an emphasis this offseason to find ways to split [the double teams], get stronger in the weight room and stuff like that. And [I] even [wanted to] add a little bit more weight, because I know they're going to be sliding. It's a good thing, and I appreciate it, but I definitely want to keep being productive and being the player that I know I can be."
On what his ideal target playing weight would be: "Probably, between 290-300 [lbs.]. Around that."
On the difference in his weight compared to last year and how much he wants to add: "Last year I think it was a little bit lighter. [I was] maybe 285 [lbs.] or 290 [lbs.], but I want to add a little bit like five-to-eight [pounds], you know what I mean? I think those little things even add a difference."
On the efforts that it will take to reestablish defense as the identity of the Ravens: "Just being us. I think in the middle of last year, we found a little spark that we needed. We didn't come up to the best start, but we started picking up as the season went on. Just being ourselves and playing Raven football. Definitely the cornerstone of our whole team is defensive play. I know we take pride in stopping the run and stopping passes and stuff like that. So that's what an emphasis [will be] on in camp."
On what the hardest thing to take away from the Buffalo Bills loss at the end of the 2024 season was: "Just the whole game. It just wasn't our best play, and it wasn't a good loss to digest in the offseason. So, we're definitely hungry this camp to get our juices flowing, get back to playing the type of football that we know we can play."
On how he quantifies his success from the 2024 season: "That's a good question. I would say [the] attention that you get on the line. Obviously, production is for everybody but just being really a tenacious force. That's how I see myself as a player. When you're a good player, people are going to scheme against you and try to stop you. It's going to free up other guys, but you still want to play, you still want to ball, you still want to eat. So, you just have to find ways to beat the slides and watch even more film and just study specific opponents. So those are the things I'm going to definitely emphasize this year."
On any observations of changes in approaches made by defensive coordinator Zach Orr after the 2024 season: "Yes, he was getting flack, but I think in the second half of the season, we turned around and started being really productive. The Buffalo game definitely wasn't a game that we played our best football. So, Zach [Orr] is a great defensive coordinator. We all trust in his plan, and he's going to put us in the best position to be successful."
On how his leadership role has evolved with former Ravens Michael Pierce and Brent Urban no longer on the team: "Yes, definitely. I saw myself as a leader last year as well. I was breaking the team down before games and getting everybody ready to go. Mike [Pierce] and 'Urb' [Brent Urban] were great vets for us and were leaders. I wouldn't say it's me being stepping up, but me growing more in a role as a leader."
On what it is like to see DL Travis Jones be more vocal this year: "Yes, 'Trav,' he's a great player, a great competitor, great person as well, and he works really, really hard. I definitely see him being a bigger leader and growing in that as well. So, [I am] looking forward to it."
On how well DL Travis Jones broke down the huddle during minicamp: "[Travis Jones] did pretty good. That is probably his first or second time [breaking down the huddle], so he made a little stutters here and there, but that's how I was, too. So, I was like, 'Bro, don't worry about it. You'll grow into that role and just let yourself blossom over time, and you'll get right.'"
On how he would describe the Training Camp environment: "It's hot. The days are long, but the years are short. So, you want to make sure that you're working as much as you can throughout the training camp and build good habits and bring along the guys with you – the young guys – teach them things that you did as a rookie or a second-year guy like Calais [Campbell] and all the guys taught me. I'm passing it down as well, because those are things that implemented me to be the best that I can be. So, that's what training camp is about."
On if he senses a different energy when approaching Training Camp in 2025: "I do every year. Every year, it's a new energy. We have new players every single year, and it's always a new energy. I feel that. I think everybody in the locker room feels that, but it's about growing in that, believing in that and just taking it one day at a time and just keep getting better."
On what the team's response has been to the new pool at UAPC: "Oh, the new inside [training room setup]? It's great. This is my first time seeing it. I think I came here probably two weeks ago, and it still looked like ... I was like, 'I don't know if they're going to be ready. I'm not sure.' But they surprised everybody. It looks fantastic. I've used the hot tub already. Guys are getting right. It looks great."
On if the new training room capabilities replace anything in his post-practice routine: "No, it's just really the same thing. I think it was just in minicamp, they didn't have it ready, so I didn't do [the] hot tubs and stuff like that, but now they have it ready. It's the same old, same old, just a new structure and it looks really good. I don't think you've seen it. Have you seen it yet?"
On seeing CB Marlon Humphrey post the new renovations at UAPC on his social media: "It's fire. Marlon [Humphrey] couldn't wait to put it [videos of the recovery pool] on Instagram, but it looks that good."
On the mood of the team stepping onto the field for the first time for Training Camp in 2025: "The mood? Excitement. Excitement. We're back to playing football again. It's back to football season. It is exciting. It's thrilling. Everybody's ready to go, and I'm looking forward to it."
T RONNIE STANLEY
On if there's anything new to beginning training camp this year: "It's always new, because you have a new team every year. Just building the chemistry and getting the continuity with the guys is the newest part, but football, that part never changes."
On how exciting it is to go into this year under contract: "It's very exciting, but going through that last year and talking about this year now, I think I kind of have the same mindset. You kind of don't know what's going to happen, and you've just got to be excited and grateful for every day, be happy about it and try to make the best out of every moment."
On his confidence level in what this team can do: "[I'm] very confident. The sky is the limit on what this team can do. We can do everything we want to do and more, and I feel like we are very capable, and we have the people to do it."
On how long the loss to Buffalo in the playoffs lingered: "I don't think I necessarily flushed it quickly. It's something that took time to process, and it kind of eats you up throughout the whole off season, but it's motivation, nonetheless, to use for this season. I think everyone that was part of that team knows how tough that was, and it's only going to make us better."
On working with Jay Glazer this offseason: "Yes, that was the first year I did that approach. I just think being able to get better at different things and different muscle groups doing different activities, and I think one of those things like Greco wrestling is something that can really help offensive [and] defensive linemen working in those positions."
On what he's seen in G Daniel Faalele's development and growth in the offseason: "Daniel [Faalele] is taking a really tough approach on himself this off season. He's been working his butt off every day. He's been pushing himself, and I've been very proud of how far he has gone."
On if there is a certain tone that has to be set starting in training camp to get where they want to be to start the season: "Yes, I think it's the tone that we always set, and that's playing like a Raven. That's our motto, and we go out there every day, and that's how we try to compete and execute."
On if adding players like WR DeAndre Hopkins and CB Jaire Alexander shows how aggressive this front office is in trying to chase a Super Bowl: "I know [executive vice president and general manager] Eric [DeCosta] is always going to be aggressive when trying to chase a goal, and he wants to win just as much as us, and I know he's doing everything he can to make this team as good as he can."
On how to go about building chemistry with the LG position: "You have to work a lot of time together. It takes time; it takes hours. I think stuff like that just can't come overnight, or it can't just happen talking to someone. It takes working together, and it's going to take a lot of reps. Andrew [Vorhees] is a very smart guy, and we talk a lot, and I think we're on the same page about a lot of things."
On how important continuity on the offensive line is and his outlook on the group heading into this year: "Yes, it makes a difference that we have that chemistry from last year, but I still think that we still need to push ourselves to be even better. Just like last year, I have full confidence in the people we're going to have out there."
On what impresses him the most about RB Derrick Henry: "What most impresses me about Derrick [Henry] is honestly his work ethic – the stuff that no one really sees, the stuff he does to prepare for practice, prepare for games, on and off the field, his diet regimen. Those are things that make him what he is."
On the recent NFLPA news and how it could impact negotiations in the future: "I haven't had too many talks from players. They know that things are going to be handled, but right now, I'm just focused on winning the Super Bowl."
On what he thinks the trajectory for QB Lamar Jackson could still be: "I couldn't even tell you. I think [Lamar Jackson] kind of makes his own trajectory. He's going to do things week in and week out that we haven't seen before, so it's always surprising the new things he can do and accomplish. After playing with him for eight years, I'm not surprised by him always pushing the limits and breaking new boundaries."
On if seeing QB Lamar Jackson left out of some of the top QB rankings drives the team even more to get him the respect he deserves: "I think rankings don't necessarily matter as much to [Lamar Jackson], and for us, we know what matters for him. He really just wants to win, so I think for us, I think our only motivation is just to get him that Super Bowl ring and bring that to Baltimore."
On if he was surprised that QB Lamar Jackson didn't win AP Most Valuable Player this past season: "Very surprised."
On his reaction to playing Buffalo, Detroit and Kansas City in the first few weeks of the season: "It is what it is. That's the nature of the game, and it's the nature of the beast. You're going to go against tough opponents here and there, and it's going to come in clusters. You just kind have to roll with it, and you've got to go with it."
On if there's a different energy as they approach training camp this season: "Yes, I think guys are definitely more hungry. I think it's more [feeling] irritable of how far we come and how close we get, but also very positive and confident energy around the building."
On if he feels like the continuity on the offensive line will help them get out to a better start this year: "Yes, all our goal is to win one game at a time, and all our focus is on winning the first game. We always want to start fast, and we didn't start the way we wanted to last year, but I think our goal is [always] just to start fast and win every game possible."
On being the longest tenured Raven: "Yes, I definitely was made aware from my younger teammates, but it's cool. I never really imagined that being the case, but I think it's very cool. It's a big blessing."
On how they expect some of the work they did in minicamp to help them going into the regular season: "I think it's just about the execution, communication, being on the same page and having the discipline to be on time and be on the right call."
