Tyler Huntley is no longer the Ravens' practice squad quarterback.

Huntley has been signed to the Ravens' 53-man roster and will start Sunday against the Chicago Bears if Lamar Jackson (hamstring) cannot play.

Huntley got the nod from Head Coach John Harbaugh after sparking the Ravens offense in the fourth quarter in Baltimore's Week 6 loss to the Rams. After taking over for Cooper Rush, Huntley completed 10 of 15 passes for 68 yards and ran for another 23 yards.

Jackson, who hasn't played in nearly a month, practiced fully Friday after back-to-back limited practices and Head Coach John Harbaugh said, "we'll see where we're at going forward."

In his sixth NFL season, Huntley has started 14 games and filled in for a sick Jackson in 2021 during the Ravens' last game against the Bears, leading Baltimore to a comeback 16-13 victory.

"I always prepare to start," Huntley said Friday. "I treat it like every week; I'm studying and drawing out the plays, watching film and everything I need to do to be prepared, like I do every week."

The Ravens had an open spot on their 53-man roster after releasing tight end Zaire Mitchell-Paden, who filled in for injured Pro Bowl fullback Patrick Ricard (calf) for the first six games. Mitchell-Paden was claimed off waivers by the New Orleans Saints Friday. Ricard is set to make his debut Sunday.
