The Ravens are adding veteran coach and former offensive coordinator Joe Lombardi as a senior offensive assistant, per The Athletic’s Jeff Zrebiec.

As a former offensive coordinator and play-caller, Lombardi, 54, would bring valuable experience and perspective to 29-year-old Declan Doyle's staff.

Doyle and Lombardi worked together twice before, including two seasons with the Denver Broncos (2023-2024) and two years with the New Orleans Saints (2019-2020).

Lombardi most recently served as the Denver Broncos' offensive coordinator for the past three seasons, but was let go by Sean Payton after Denver fell short in the AFC Championship game with backup quarterback Jarrett Stidham. Payton called the Broncos' offensive plays.

Previous to that, Lombardi spent two seasons as the Los Angeles Chargers' offensive coordinator (2021-2022), working with quarterback Justin Herbert, and two seasons as the Detroit Lions' offensive coordinator (2014-2015).

Sandwiched between were five years as the New Orleans Saints' quarterbacks coach under Payton. Both Lombardi and Doyle have spent several years learning from Payton, who is regarded as one of the league's top offensive minds.

Lombardi is the grandson of Pro Football Hall of Fame Coach Vince Lombardi. Now he'll try to help the Ravens get back to the Super Bowl and hoist their third Lombardi Trophy.
