Lamar Jackson has returned to action and he's back to winning awards.
Jackson was named AFC Offensive Player of the Week for his standout performance in the Ravens' 28-6 victory over the Miami Dolphins. It's the 14th time that Jackson has won the award, and he's now done it in six different seasons.
After a three-game absence due to a hamstring injury, Jackson returned in a big way in Week 9. He completed18 of 23 passes for 204 yards and four touchdowns, with no interceptions and a quarterback rating of 143.2.
His first two touchdown passes went to Mark Andrews, who has been Jackson's favorite target since they joined the Ravens together in 2018.
Jackson connected on his first nine passes in the second half, taking command as Baltimore pulled away for its second straight victory. He spread the wealth against the Dolphins with completions to eight different targets.
This is the third time that Jackson has been named AFC Offensive Player of the Week at the Dolphins' expense.
In 2019, Jackson opened the season by throwing five touchdown passes against Miami in a 59-10 victory that launched his first MVP season. Then in 2023, Jackson threw five touchdowns against Miami again during a 56-19 victory at M&T Bank Stadium. Jackson had a perfect passer rating (158.3) during that December game that clinched the No. 1 seed for Baltimore and helped Jackson secure his second MVP.
Jackson has a 136.7 quarterback rating this season, the highest ever by a quarterback through his first five games.
Jackson will have a chance to win back-to-back AFC Offensive Player of the Week honors for the second time in his career in Week 10 when the Ravens visit the Minnesota Vikings. Jackson won back-to-back in Weeks 9 and 10 in 2019.
