Due to extensive damage at Reliant Stadium and the devastation in Houston and the surrounding areas caused by Hurricane Ike, the Houston Texans' home game against the Baltimore Ravens this weekend has been rescheduled for Sunday, November 9 at Reliant Stadium at noon Houston time (1:00 PM ET) on CBS.
Short notice made it logistically impossible to play this week at alternate sites. The change in dates also affects the Cincinnati Bengals' bye week schedule.
The regular season schedule for the Houston Texans, Baltimore Ravens and Cincinnati Bengals has been changed as a result of this weekend's postponement. The changes for these three teams are as follows:
Houston Texans Revised Schedule
The Houston Texans' bye has been changed from Sunday, October 26 to Sunday, September 14.
The Texans' next two games will take place as scheduled on the road -- Sunday, September 21 against the Tennessee Titans at LP Field and Sunday, September 28 against the Jacksonville Jaguars at Jacksonville Municipal Stadium.
Baltimore Ravens Revised Schedule
The Baltimore Ravens' bye has been changed from Sunday, November 9 to Sunday, September 14.
Cincinnati Bengals Revised Schedule
The Cincinnati Bengals' bye has been changed from Sunday, October 26 to Sunday, November 9.
The Texans' home game against the Cincinnati Bengals originally scheduled for Sunday, November 9 has been rescheduled for Sunday, October 26 at Reliant Stadium at 3:05 PM Houston time (4:05 PM ET) on CBS.
Here's what John Harbaugh said regarding the postponing of the game:
"Our thoughts and prayers are with all of those who have been impacted by this hurricane. We will adjust. Our focus now turns to preparing for the Browns."
Harbaugh cancelled Sunday's practice and is giving the players tomorrow, Monday and Tuesday off. "Without a bye, we believe we need to give the players the next few days off. We'll have a Cleveland game plan ready for them when they come in on Wednesday."
Coach Harbaugh will meet with the media at 3:45 p.m. Monday.
