The Ravens have elevated quarterback Tyler Huntley and defensive tackle C.J. Okoye from the practice squad for Sunday's game against the Houston Texans.
Huntley will be the No. 2 quarterback behind Cooper Rush, who will make his first start for the Ravens with Lamar Jackson (hamstring) ruled out. The 27-year-old Huntley spent the first four seasons of his career with Baltimore (2020-23) and was signed to the practice squad in August after being released by the Cleveland Browns.
Huntley's most extensive action came in 2022, when he started five games, including a playoff game against the Cincinnati Bengals, after Jackson suffered a knee injury in Week 13. Huntley has a 5-9 career record as a starter and was 2-3 in five starts with the Miami Dolphins last season.
Okoye made his NFL debut with the Ravens in Week 4 against the Kansas City Chiefs and had three tackles. He spent his first two NFL seasons (2023-24) on the Los Angeles Chargers' practice squad. The Ravens signed him to a future/reserves contract in January, and he was signed to the practice squad after spending the summer on the 90-man roster.
A native of Agbogugu, Nigeria, Okoye came to America in 2023. He was one of 38 players from 13 countries to participate in the 2022 NFL International Combine in London, and from there was chosen as one of 13 players in the NFL International Player Pathway Program.
Okoye will once again join the defensive tackle rotation with Nnamdi Madubuike (neck) out for the season and Broderick Washington Jr. (ankle) on injured reserve.
